About the role

Lead Radioligand Therapy (RLT) Nurse

Specialist Imaging Centre, Kings Cross, London

Lead with compassion. Inspire clinical excellence. Make a difference that matters.

At InHealth, we believe exceptional healthcare starts with exceptional people.

Our Radioligand Therapy (RLT) teams play a vital role in delivering specialist care to patients undergoing advanced therapeutic procedures. From the moment a patient arrives to the support they receive after treatment, our teams are committed to delivering safe, compassionate and outstanding care.

We're looking for an inspiring and experienced Lead RLT Nurse to join our team and help shape the future of our specialist therapy services.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with your passion for leadership, taking responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of a high-quality RLT service while supporting, developing and motivating a dedicated clinical team.

As a Lead RLT Nurse, you'll be at the heart of our service, championing patient safety, driving continuous improvement and ensuring our patients, colleagues and partners receive the highest standards of care.

If you're a confident and compassionate leader who thrives in a specialist clinical environment and is ready to make a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

As Lead RLT Nurse, you'll provide clinical leadership and operational oversight across our Radioligand Therapy service, ensuring we deliver a safe, effective, caring and well-led environment that consistently meets the needs of our patients and colleagues.

You'll combine hands-on clinical expertise with leadership, governance and service development responsibilities, helping to ensure our service continues to evolve and deliver excellence.

Clinical leadership and patient care

  • Undertake and oversee radioligand therapy administration procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines, departmental protocols and relevant legislation, including CQC, IR(ME)R 2017, IRR 2017, ARSAC, EA and HSE requirements.

  • Provide clinical oversight of the day-to-day activities across the RLT service, ensuring safe and effective delivery of all therapeutic procedures.

  • Champion compassionate, person-centred care, ensuring patients receive the highest standards of support before, during and after their treatment.

  • Ensure patient administrations are undertaken in accordance with referrals and departmental guidelines.

  • Maintain your clinical expertise and professional competencies, ensuring you remain technically competent in therapeutic procedures.

  • Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) for the RLT service, promoting a culture of radiation safety and compliance.

  • Carry out equipment Quality Assurance checks, ensuring any issues are identified and appropriately addressed.

  • Ensure patients' individual needs, customs, values and spiritual beliefs are respected, with their views actively considered throughout their care.

  • Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness and presentation of the site, undertaking regular evaluations, including Healthcare Quality Audits (HQAs) and National Cleanliness Standards assessments.

  • Ensure equipment meets clinical standards and is maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced nursing professional who combines clinical expertise with a genuine passion for leadership, patient care and the development of specialist services.

You'll bring:

  • A BSc in Nursing or Midwifery, or an equivalent qualification, with current registration as a registered professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

  • A strong understanding of the Lead RLT Nurse role and the responsibilities involved in caring for patients, their visitors, carers and colleagues.

  • A proven commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centred care and maintaining patient confidentiality.

  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • A sound understanding of relevant regulatory and clinical governance requirements, including CQC, EA, HSE, IRR, IR(ME)R and ARSAC.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Infection Control and Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT).

  • Completed Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) training.

  • An understanding of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and GDPR.

  • Relevant training in Infection Control (ANTT), Manual Handling and Patient Transfer, Health and Safety Awareness and Immediate Life Support.

Just as importantly, you'll be someone who:

  • Leads with confidence, compassion and integrity.

  • Inspires and motivates colleagues, creating a positive and supportive working environment.

  • Is approachable, reliable and willing to get involved wherever needed.

  • Remains calm and solution-focused when faced with challenging situations.

  • Takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining high clinical standards.

  • Is proactive, organised and committed to continuous improvement.

  • Enjoys developing others and helping colleagues reach their full potential.
